On August 21st 2009, Hemispheres Arts Academy Board President, Sacramento City Councilmember Rob Fong, and the Hemispheres Board of Directors presented Sacramento Ballet Artistic Director, Ron Cunningham, with a check for $50,000.

This $50,000 grant to the Sacramento Ballet is the single, largest grant ever awarded by Hemispheres Arts Academy. The grant was made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Hemispheres Board of Directors for the 3rd Annual Hemispheres Arts Academy Roast for the Arts. The grant allows the Sacramento Ballet to sustain its children’s ballet education programming.

“The Sacramento Ballet is grateful that, in today’s challenging economic climate, Hemispheres never loses sight of its mission to provide arts education for our most precious asset; our children,” said Cunningham. “The Hemispheres’ Roast of former Ballet Board President, Dennis Mangers, provided significant assistance for the Sacramento Ballet to sustain our important work with a wide diversity of local youth.”

“We are thrilled to be able to help the Sacramento Ballet and their youth programs,” said Councilmember Fong. “The Ballet is a Sacramento treasure that deserves all our support.”
